Aramo.n Kamade the Caulfield Guineas field look cheap'last Saturday. He was a fair distance back in the early part of the race, ..but once M. M'Carten asked him for" an effort it was easy for him.
Track-watchers were rather' perturbed last week-in t Melbourne because Ammon Ea was not galloped. J. T. Jamieson gave him one' sprint on Friday, considering that it was all that was 'necessary. Ho showed his complete knowledge of hia charge, J. Munro, who rode Chatham, said after the race that he was fancying his chance until Ammon Ea. sailed past him three furlongs from home. Ammon Ea .• passed Chatham- as- if the latter was _ a real donkey instead o£ a smart three-year-old.
Racegoers hoped.that Ammon Ra would oppose Phar Lap 'in the W. S. Cox Plato at Moonee Valley on Saturday week, but Jamieson scouts the idea. Jf Phar Lap does not run, Ammon. Ra will bo in tlie field, that is the absolute' provision.
