AUTOPAY FOR STEWARDS
AVork a I Tmilham this morning was o- an. exorcise nature only, no fast galloping being done. Tho principal final trials -will bo staged to-morrow. The weather is holding line, and if rain does not fall before- Saturday the track, already hard, will be very fast.
Yesterday's arrivals were Impetuous, GenosUi, and Midinotto (in charge of W. Hayncr) and Lady Qucx and Merryway (in charge of E. George). Pedestal, the fourth member of Kayner's team to race at Trcnthnin, will come on after running at Marton to-day. Horses due to put in an appearance to-day include Bronze Eagle and Lady Vane (in charge of J. Gray), Tankard (in charge of A. Cook), Channeuso and Palace (in charge if H. Nurse), Amorist (in charge of B. Longley), Gay Crest, Desert Song, Royal Baby, and Tout le Monde (in charge of T. Lloyd), Jaloux, Delicc, and Pacify (in charge of P. V. Mason), Cricket Bat, Zeebrugge, Ball Dress, and Winsome Hind (in charge of A. Cutts), and Royal Artist, High Comedy, and Tea Trader (in charge of P. E. Pope).
J. Cameron is coming to-morrow with Hunting Cry and Gold Trail, O. Cox with Barbacau, Merry Eulcr, and Grand Joy, and J. Brown with Silvermine and Arouse. The last-named is a two-year-old who is making the trip for education purposes only.
llippling Waters is not now making the tripJ Sho fell when running in a paddock yesterday morning and injured herself. Drumfire, one of the Chokebore team, has also been left behind.
Additional riding engagements are: S. Wilson, Malayan; A. H. Eastwood, Impetuous and Duellona (if started in Wainui Handicap); B. H. Morris, Lady Qucx and Clangor (or Midinette); R. Reed, Hunting Cry and probably Gold Trail (in Taita Handicap); P. Burgess, Hymgreat; A. Leach, Portray and Retract; and K. Voitre, High Comedy and Royal Artist.
Further scratchings for all engagements at the meeting are: Gallivanter, Valrcwa, Pillow Fight, and Rippling Waters.
Autopay, looking very well after his trip back from Sydney and as active as ever, was out on the track this morning doing easy exercise. • He is carrying very much the same condition as when ho left, but is a picture of fitness in appearance. His trainer (T. Pritchard) states that, all going well, ho will contest the Stewards' Handicap.
Princess Dawn, Mr. W. Higgins's two-year-old filly by Chief Ruler from Bon Chic, who arrived back from Sydney yesterday, is now in J. M'Laughlai's stable, and may be a runner in the Taita Handicap on Saturday. At Randwick sho was in G. R. Price's stable.
