Millard, amateur cnampion of Canterbury;'- will meet Ewen Macfarlane this afternoon, and the contest should be notable. Millard is very sound on the greens. Bott, the scratch man from Shormingham, England, failed to fulfil the promise of his earlier play, and was easily beaten by Arnould, of Christchurch, a 3 handicap man. Fuller and Lambie had a great gamo over the first IS holes. Lambio particularly was in first-class form going out, but Fuller played wonderfully on the return journey, and finished 2 up, after negotiating three stymies. When Branch and Dyke were playing the final hole, Branch hit a ball right into the middlo of the "nineteenth hole." It lay on the carpet of the smoking room, anil Branch surrendered that; hole to Dyke. Against Smith, Shaw ouce holed a 35-foot pull.
