HUSBANDS SHOT DEAD
WHILE ASSAULTING WIVES
PROTECTIVE MEASURES

The husbands of two women in different parts of the State were killed yesterday under similar circumstances.
Walter Peddcll, aged 50, was shot dead while violently assaulting his wife at Gunnadah. :
The police have ascertained that Peddell's son attempted to protect his mother, and a pea rifle was fired during the altercation. The other instance was at Surry Hills, the victim being George luman, aged 33, who, while attacking his wife, was fatally shot with a revolver by a man who heard Mrs. Inman's screams. The man went to Mrs. Inman's assistance, and, after a terrific struggle, allegedly was compelled, to use a revolver for his own protection.
