SENTENCE DEFERRED
(Received 19th October, 8 a.m.)
CHICAGO, 17th October.
The trial ended in confusion, with the Government apparently more concerned over the jury's failure to convict Capone on seventeen of the counts than the defence was with the conviction on five. Capone and hia attorneys, all smiling, went; into a huddle in the corridor, Michael Ahem, one of the lawyers for the defence, saying: "It was what I. expected."
Judge Wilkerson, after much discussion, granted the defence their request to argue their motion for arrest' of judgment and sot Tuesday as the. time.
The Judge-adjourned the' Court without passing sentence, indicating he would sentence Capone on Tuesday, after hearing motions from'both sides.
