WAIWETU CLUB
The summer season of the Waiwetu Club was opened on Saturday afternoon, when • good number of players took part in a stroke competition, open to both women and men. The links were in first-class order, and notwithstanding a strong wind some very good cards were returned, the best being that of J. A. M'Kay, an intermediate grade player, who returned a net score of 74. An interesting programme has been arranged for the summer, including friendly matches with other minor clubs. In addition, a Summer Cup will be awarded to the player of either sex with the highest aggregate of points won in stroke and. bogey competitions during the season, these points being counted <on the following basis: First,_ 3 points;, .second, 2 points; third, 1 point.
