AMATEUR BILLIARDS
DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP.
This year's New Zealand amateur billiards championship is taking place in Wellington, and winners o£ local as well as New Zealand championships are among the competitors. A start is to be_made to-night, when/ the lirst match of tlm championship series will be between, Wakcm (Federal) and Freeman (K.fc.A.). The winner of this game is to meet Duncan (R.S.A.) to-morrow afternoon, and Hackett, of Auckland, who represented New Zealand in Australia recently, will be opposed by Moses (Pastimes) to-morrow; night. Hackett has a splendid record m New Zealand championships, and is regarded as one of the strongest contender* for the title again this year. Everything possible has been done to make conditions in keeping with the importance o£ -the championship, and some fine play is expected throughout the tournament,- which is taking place at the Federal' Club rooms.
