The monthly meeting of the Executiva Committee of the Lyall Bay Home and School Association was held last evening, ilr. F. W. Boyd presiding.

It was resolved to thank the secretary of the Wellington School Committees and Educational Federation for his comprehensive letter as to its aims and objects, and to suggest that ho wait upon the school committee at its next meeting in regard to affiliation.

It was decided to assist in paying the cost of top-dressing1 the school tennis courts and erect additional wire fencing panels. Mrs. D. W. Olson, vice-president, reported that the furnishings authorised for the teachers' room in the upper school had been completed. The headmaster, Mr. 0. A. Banner, was complimented on his selection of pictures for the school, donated,by the association, and it was also decided to bear the cost of framing, amounting to £5 Ss 6d. A welcome was extended to Mrs. Boyd on resuming her seat on the executive, after an absence of some months, due to an accident. Arrangements were made for Parents* Day, when the ladies' committee will be in charge of stalls and tea-rooms to augment the school funds. The treasurer reported that the dance held last month just cleared expenses. Ths poor result was due, no doubt, to prevailing influenza.
