MASTERTON'S NURSERY

Of the seventeen two-year-olds entered for the Nursery Handicap, four furlongs, at the Masterton Meeting on Saturday, nine are trained at Trentham. They are Lord John, Sir Pombal, Golden Horn, Prince Pombal, Clangor, Volga Boatman, Michael Angelo, Ebba gelding, and Jestee colt. The most forward of these are probably Michael Angelo and the Ebba gelding. Among the other eight entrants are the Napier Park winner, Mister Quex, who is owned by Mr. E. Collins and is highly regarded by his connections. Two of the remainder, Inflation and La Moderne (Gay Ballerina's sister), have had racing experience, the latter having finished second to Tankard in the Musket Stakes at the recent Auckland Meeting. The rest are as yet unknown quantities. One of them, Trayrnela, is the brother of Tea Chat who was bcoken in at Trentham in the autumn by J. Olsen, but was afterwards taken across to Blenheim for the winter.
