BENEVOLENT BEQUESTS

Tho late Mrs. Sarah Hurford Ames, by her will, directed that part of the annual income from her residuary estate is to be annually distributed to homes and other institutions in the city and suburbs of Wellington, established and conducted for the care find welfare of aged and infirm persons of either sex. The Public Trustee, who is administering Mrs. Ames's estate^is anxious to ensure that all eligible institutions entitled shall participate in tho bequest, and for this purpose is arranging for applications on behalf of such institutions to bo submitted to him. An advertisement calling for such applications appears in this evening's "Post." Under the will of the late .Mr M. ')• Meueliiiis, of 43, Ellice avenue, the Public Trustee is appointed executor .'iiul trustee. The will provides for a legacy of £100 to the Session of St. John's Presbyterian Church, of which Mie late Mr. Menelans was a member.
