EDWARDS CHARGED

AUCKLAND, This Day,
"Yes, it is true. lam a Communist, I joined when Bernard Shaw did. I thought if it was good enough for him it was gopd enough for me. All great minds think alike." So said James Henry Edwards, giving evidence in the Police Court to-day when charged with encouraging lawlessness. The Court was crowded. It was alleged that Edwards at a meeting last Sunday urged his hearers to go to Norfolk street on Monday and prevent aa eviction and "prevent force by force.''
During the evidence, a detective said that two letters were found on Edwards written by men from Baetihi appealing to Edwards or another "Bed" worker, to go there and speak, and stating? "There are enthusiastic young rebel* here, but/duds' are in the majority.'* The hearing is proceeding.
