EXPENDITURE IN LOWER HUTT

During September the Lower Hutt Borough Council has employed US four-day men, 291 three-day men, and 103 two-day men, a total of 572, under No. 5 Scheme, as against a total of 534 in the previous month: The men have been employed on the following works: —Road formation -in White's Line, east of Waiwetu Stream, road berm3 and paths, Wainui Hill road, Gracefield sewemge, Gracefield water supply, Western Hutt road widening, and cleaning the catchpit of the Western Hills drain.
