BRITISH INDUSTRIES FAIR

Space definitely booked iv the hardware, engineering, and electrical section of the British Industries Fair, Castle Bromwich, Birmingham, last month reached 200,000 square feet, leaving unlet only about 40,000 square feet, of which a large amount has been provisionally booked. "While the majority of bookings are by firms which have exhibited for many y-irs," stated Mr. C. Elliott, general manager of the Birmingham Section, 'a notable feature is the return of old exhibitors who have been missing recently. Their return, I think, is a sign of appreciation of the great improvements made in the Fair in Birmingham since they last exhibited. There are also a number ot new exhibitors, both in the old sections and in those which have been formed this year. While the bookings slowed down, considerably during the national crisis, there has since been a new spurt of applications. The extensions of the buildings at Castle Bromwich are now well advanced." As a result of the formation of a cycle and motor-cycle section of the Fair in Birmingham, an inquiry has already been received by the Fair management from Japan, and has been passed on to intending exhibitors.

It was reported to the Petone Borough Council last night by the Reserves Committee that facilities for cricket on the Recreation Ground had been given to the Hutt Valley Cricket Association, the Technical School, and the Hutb Valley Schools' Sports Association.
