SUBURBS CLUB

The Suburbs Defence Rifle Club fired a practice match on Saturday over ranges of 500 and 600 yards. There was v very small attendance, due no doubt to the threatening weather. Shooting conditions were bad, as a strong, gusty wind was blowing diagonally across the range, and it was extremely difficult to gauge the correct windage. The wind was the mo*t difficult hurdle at 500 yards, but at 600 yards the marksmen had also to contend with a light rain and-a rapidly failing light. In spite of these difficulties some excellent scores, were recorded, the scores of J. Smart (01), S. Neilson (90), H. Hunt (88),* and T. Goodall (86) deserving special mention. The scores were:— I ' 500 yds. 600 yds. Ttl. J. Smart ;.■ 47 44 91 S. Kcilsou ....." 46 '44' ' 90 11. Hunt 46 42 88 T. Goodall ~42 44 86 J. Gagliard, 42-40-82; H. T. Peat, 45-35— 80; L. " Members are reminded that the first shoot in the championship series will take place on Saturday next over ranges of 300 and 600 yards.
