MEAT EXPORT YEAR

FALL IN CANADIAN TRADE

DIRECT SHIPMENTS

"Evening Post," 13th October. Impressive returns of.the frozen meat export trade are furnished by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board for the twelve months ended 30th September la.st. Totals arc 7,524,937 lambs, 2,-!75,970 sheep, 133,754 carcasses of pork, and 135,539 quarters of beef. The bulk of this meat this year has gone to the United Kingdom, and the tables hereunder will show a great falling off in shipments of meat to Canada when comparison is made with last year's exports. To the United States practically nothing was exported for the past twelve months, compared with some 3800 quarters of beef, 1200 sheep, and 1505 lambs sent the United States for the previous twelve months. But Canada's drop is significant. For the past twelve months total exports of frozen produce to the elder Dominion compare as under: 12 mos., 12 mos., 193). 1930.
