THE SPRING CHILD'S PARTY
One day./ Queen, Fairiel woke up feelIng- as though something exciting was going to happen. Beckoning' "to ncr servants, Rosebud and Lily, Queen Fairiel said,"ls it a'special day today?" -Lily replied, "Yes, it.is the day the Spring Child arrives." "Why, so it is!" Queen Fairiel'exclaimed. "Get my blue dress that is trimmed with dewdrops." Rosebud then took out the dr.ess and helped Queen Fairiel "to put it on.' ■: After a breakfast of wild strawberries and cream, Queen Fairiel went forth to greet the Spring Child. All the Fairy Ring were there—September Fairy, Tippetty Toes, Birthday Child, Saucy Sally, Sunshine Elf, Dawn Fairy, Queea of Autumn, and many other elves. ;. . . Then Queen Fairiel proposed that they should play games. First, they played "Hunt the Slipper" and "Postman's Knock," and were very happy and gay, Spring Child being among the merriest. Soon they had the party. There were sugar apples and pears, acorn cups of dew and Turkish Delight, and, beat of all, a lovely, large marzipan cake with "Welcome; Spring Child,, from the Fairy Ring" on it. After i supper they danced. Then everyone jwent home to ; bed to dream of thi3 happy time they had had at Queen Fairiel's palace.: "SUNSHINE ELF" (10). Brooklyn..
