CROSSING SMASH
VAN HIT BY TRAIN
Having stalled on the rails at a crossing to the north of the Khandallah railway station shortly after 5 o'clock, yesterday afternoon, a motor van owned by Mr. S. F. Beaumont, baker, of Johnsohville,. and driven by William Green, was badly damaged when it was struck by a train coming towards Wellington. The van was pushed twenty or thirty yards, and a,portion of it was thrown on to the station platform. Although the front wheels of the vau were torn off, the ; escaped with nothing more serious than cuts.
