Tho Canterbury Rugby team to play Australia .on Saturday is:—Roberts, Hart, Innes, R. N. Williams, Oliver, Day, Mullan, Andrews, Cottrell, Pease, Simpson, Kearney, Manchester, King, and Sweeney.
When the challenge for the Ranfurly Shield is received from the Otago Union it will be held over by the Canterbury Union until after the selection of the New Zealand team to meet the Australians at. Auckland on 12th September. It is on this date that Otago will meet Canterbury. Acceptance of the match as one for the Shield to some extent will depend upon what, extent the Canterbury team is wi>;ikened by the absence of All Blacks.
This Canterbury Union has tlerideil not to accept a challenge from the Ashburton Union, as all Saturdays arc occupied.
