BILL FOR REOPENING
TRUSTEES APPOINTED

SYDNEY, This Day.
The Bill providing for tho re-open-ing of the Government Savings Bank passed through the Legislative Assembly and was read a first time in tho Upper House.
Mr. Lang, the Premier, read a letter from the Chief Justice, asking that the Judges be relieved from the difficult and invidious duty of appointing trustees.
The Premier then obtained permission to amend the Bill to provide for appoinment of the following five trustees: Sir William Vicars, Sir Joseph Clifton Love, Sir John Butters, Mr. W. H. O'Malley Wood, and Mr.• Mark Young.
The House also agreed to delete the sections of the Bill giving preference to certain classes of depositors.
Sir William Vicars is a, director of John Vicars and Co., Ltd., and the Sydney \Voollen Mills. He is a pastpresident of the Chamber of Manufacturers, and was chairman of the State Repatriation Board in 1919 and 1920. He is 72 years of age.
Sir Clifton Love is chairman of directors and manager of Clifford, Love, and Co., Ltd., of Sydney, and has been president of the New South Wales Chamber of Manufactures, president of the Australian Chamber of Manufacturers, and employers' representative on the Arbitration Court.
Sir John ■ Butters, a prominent Australian enginering authority, held important posts under the Tasmanian Government, controlling hydro-electric undertakings. Ho has been Chief Commissioner of thj Federal Capital Commission since November, 1924. In 1927 he was president of the Australian Institute of Engineers. Mr. O'Malley Wood previously was chairman of the Government Savings Bank of New South Wales, and also of tho Advances to Settlers' Board.
