NEW BRITISH REGIME
ROUND TABLE CONFERENCE
VALUE UNIMPAIRED
(British Official Wireless.)
IJUGBY, 24th August,
The- future of the Indian Hound Table Conference, in the light of the change of Government, must necessarily await an authoritative statement by the Secretary of State for India in the new Government. Meanwhile the preparations for the conference are proceeding without interruption or modification. The conference was called to help the Government by such a measure of agreement as might be shown in suggesting the lines on which a Bill to amend the Government of India should proceed.
All political parties having agreed that such a Bill should bo introduced in Parliament as soon as possible, the value of this method of consultation remains unimpaired.
