Silverstream W.l.—At , the August meeting, Mrs. Young presided over a splendid attendance of members, who thoroughly enjoyed the varied programme provided. Miss Harper, of Wainni-o-mata, gave a splendid demonstration of the art of. glove-making,; while Mrs. Deller-followed with a talk on the making of "Thrift Garments,": both being attended, with keen.' interest. Laughter was provided ■by a roll call of "-school:-b6y -howlers,'* which produced ;niany good' stories. ; This-was followed by afternoon .tea,- and; -avvery interesting, afternoon was.brought to a "close by the singing of "the National Anthem.
