WEDDINGS
An evening wedding was solemnised at St. Joseph's Church, Buckle street, recently, when Mollie - Ellen, jeldes.t daughter of Mr. Pat and the late Mrs. Ljindon, of Wellington, was married -to Martin John, only- son of ■Mrs. B. and the late Mr. Martin Hartigan, Lower. Hutt, and formerly of Wairarapa. The Rev. Father .Evans officiated. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, wore a charming frock of ivory .lace, made1 with'a long close-fitting \bo<lice, ankle.length.flared skirt,.and:coatee;Of/ the same material.., An ■'."embroMer.edveil- was held in place by-a circlet of orange blossoms, and fell to form a train. She carried a sheaf of lilies. Two bridesmaids, Misses Cushla and Mildred Lundon (sisters of the bride), were dressed in pink and green taffetas respectively, with felt hats . to. tone;Their bouquets were, of spring "flowers' in mauve and yellow1-shades. Bernice Barker, a flower girl, wore a dainty frock of pale blue taffeta, made on early Victorian lines,and a cap of silver. Mr. Cyril Mehaney was best man, and Mr. B. Ride groomsman. A reception was held ,at ■ the - bride's home.- -Mrs.. W. ■• Chapman Ti(Hawkes Bay) aunt ~of. the bride,, received-the guests, wearing 'a becoming frock of black georgette with a cyclamen bridge coat. Her bouquet was of daphne. The bridegroom's mother wore a French frock of black. Her bouquet was of violets with touches of-pink.' Later Mr. and Mrs. Hartigan left for a motor tour of the North Island.
