LORD STANLEY OF ALDERLEY
LONDON, 23rd August. The death is announced in London "of Lord" Stanley of Alderley, who «v Governor of "Victoria from' 1914J to 1920: 'He was the fifth baron, and tha barony dates back to 1783. He wa» educated at Oxford University,' arid w«.ii called to the Bar in 1902. From 1908 and 1910 he was Liberal M.P. for th» Eddisbury Division of Cheshire, and'in 1925 he succeeded his father. H« married, in 1905, a daughter of Mr. H. Evans-Gordon, and had two sons and three daughters. He was 56 years t>t age.
