Climic and Miss StuartForbes, Lower Hutt, left for the South on Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Ehind and family, Pipitea street, are spending the school holidays at Heretaunga. Miss Mary Worthington, licmucra, Auckland, is the guest of Mrs. Ernest \V. Hunt, Lower Hutt. Mr. and Mrs. Robinson, London, who are making a two years' tour of the world, are spending three weeks in Iho North Island. Last week Mr. Robinson made an ascent of Mount Kgmont, antl they are now visiting Ruapehu. Mrs. S. J. Castle, Kelburn, has left for a visit to Hawkes Bay. Miss Una Castle will leave Wellington this week for Auckland.

Miss Mona M'Crea will be a visitor to the Chateau, Tongariro, this week. Mr. and Mrs. T. Trask, Hawera, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. "W. Styles, Johnsoaville. Mrs. Eric Beaven, Christchurch, will arrive in Wellington to-morrow to meet her husband on his return from Australia. Miss Doris Frost returned to Wellington yesterday after a visit to Christchurch and Mount Cook. | Mrs. P. Paton (Auckland), Mrs R [H. On Saturday Mrs. Frances Mary Speakman, an inmate of the Auckland l Infirmary, celebrated her 100 th birth-j day. Mrs. Speakman was born in Appicford, Berkshire, and she arrived at Auckland with her late husband in the ship Matoaka in 1559, after a voyage of 16 weeks from Gravcsond. ■
