A REDUCTION URGED

: The Taranaki Electric Power Board to-day passed: the following resolution in' regard.to interest fates:—
"This board is of opinion that the internal and general economic readjustment which, is necessary as a result of the fall in national revenue cannot be accomplished -without a lowering of interest charges in this direction."
A special committee was empowered to interview the Public Trust arid Government Life Insurance' Office with regard to'a reduction iri interests rates. The board has on loan from these two institutions approximately £460,000 at 6 per cent. '~■'■" :' v
