CONSIDERED EXCESSIVE
COMPLAINT BY TRADERS
LONDON, 29th July,
The Traders' Co-ordination Committee on Dock Charges, including representatives of the Chamber of Shipping, the Association of Chambers of Commerce, tho federation of British Industries, and many oilier trading .associations, complain ugainst tho uontinuaneo of the present high rates. They point out that thero has boon practically no reduction at British ports tor the past soven or eight years tljough wholesale prices have fallen by 31 per eont, and freights 33 per cent. Duos per ton ou ships discharging whole cargoes of grain worked out at ud at Belgian ports, 7.21 dat French ports, 5.02 dat Dutch ports, lO.Sld at German ports, and 19.7<M at the ports of the United Kingdom.
