SHOPS DESTROYED
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ASHBURTON, This Day. A fire at 4.20 o 'clock yesterday morning destroyed business premises at Methven- owned, by H. G. Ayers and occupied by T. H. Drummond fruiterer and confectioner, and T. A. Bryant and Company, men's outfitters. The shops were insured for £ GOO in Lloyds, Drummond's stock and fittings for £600 in the Sun Office, and Bryant's stock for £400 in the Northern Office. The origin of the fire is unknown.
