In the Davis Cup inlerzone final between Britain and America, Britain won by three matches to two, and will meet the holders, France, in the final for the Cup. In. the singles oil Friday 11. W. Austin, (Britain) beat Sidney B. Wood (United States), 2-6, 6-0, 8-6, 7-5, and Frank X. Shields (United States) beat F. J. Berry (Britain), 10-8, 6-4, G-2. la the doubles on Saturday, Lott and "Van Ryn beat Hughes and Perry, 6-1, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. To-day iv the deciding singles, Austin beat Shields, 8-6, 6-3, 7-5. Perry beat Wood, 6-3, 8-10, 6-3, 6-3. Keen, excitement culminated in intense delight at a victory enabling Britain to meet France in the challenge round for the Davis Cup. Perry out-manoeuvred Wood. His play sparkled with good, strokes and cross-court drives. In the third set Wood completely lost his form, and Perry went all out. Austin and Shields displayed fine tennis. Tho Englishman confidently met his opponent's fireworks, attaining his topmost iforni and winning in a blaze of brilliant strokes, amid terrific din and applause.
