SHIPPING SUBSIDIES
OPPOSED BY FARMERS

Strong opposition to all shipping subsidies paid by the Government was expressed by the Southland executive "of the New Zealand Farmers' TJnion at its meeting yesterday. ' Members declared that the present was no time to be spending money on shipping subsidies, from which no valuable return could reasonably be expected.
