■;; WELLINGTON'S TEAM The. first'of-this season's challenges for the Ranfurly Shield is to be decided at Athletic Park on Wednesday afternoon, when Southland will meet Wellington. It was in the Wellington-Southland match at Invercargill last year that Wellington regained, the trophy. The following team has been selected to represent Wellington on Wednesday:— Full-back: Pollock (Petone).. Three-quarters: Mackay. (University), Macdonald (Marist), Ball (Hutt). Five-eighths: Page (Wellington), Lilburne (Hutt) captain. Half-back: Kilby (Wellington). Wing-forward: Stiver (Marist). Hookers: Coulston (Hutt), Jessup (Poneke) vice-captain. Lock: M'Pherson (Poneke). Supports: Barry (Hutt), M'Lean (Wellington). Back row: Fell (Petone), DiederiCh (University). Emergencies: Backs — Masters (Old Boys), Huxtable (Petone), Griffiths (Poneke). Forwards—Bydder (Old Boys), J. Dellabarca (Eastbourne), and Reid (Petone). Nicholls (Petone) was not available, and Neal (Poneke), who is suffering from an injury, was replaced by Griffiths (Poneke) as an emergency back.
