WELLINGTON AND HUTT
The Wellington and Hutt Valley Clubs held a combined run from the Evans Bay Yacht Club's pavilion. The thirty-five runners from the two clubs divided into packs. V. Smith, C. King, L. Carmichael (Hutt Valley), L. Watson, T. Mulcahy, S. M'Kinnon, and A. Morris (Wellington) were the fast pack, and gave a big. break to the slow one. The. trail was lengthy and arduous, and led from Evans Bay road, around to Kia road, to the wireless station, along the Town Belt, past the Karitane Home, to Duncan terrace, where a turning-point was made. Arriving at the Kilbirnie Reserve, the packs merged for the run-in, which was won by M'Gonchie (W.), Murray (W.) being second, with King (H.) and M'Kinnon (W.) dead heat for third place. . • '■■'■', 1 Later . the harriers ■ and supporters had afternoon tea in the pavilion.
