BROOKLYN CLUB

Thirty-eight members ol" the Brooklyn Club assembled at the Lyall Bay Surf Club shed on Saturday afternoon, and were divided into three packs. Several of the men- are now beginning to show better form. It. Cowie is now running with the fast: pack and holding his own without undue effort. .E. Uavies. is still one of the club's fittest runners. B. Bilby and A. Barclay are building up rapidly. . In. the medium pack, K. Birks, a new member, is showing some promise, and the fast men hope to see him in their ranks next week. Woods and K. Odell ran very well, and were the pacemakers for the medium pack, making the going very willing the whole- way. . Edmonds also ran with this pack for the first time, and on his performance it is very evident that he is there to stay. Of the slow pack men, Tanner is probably the most promising runner, and; is no doubt ready to match his pace with those of' the medium runners. The trail, laic', by the club captain (N. Sinellie) and several assistants, was the longest of the season, covering some BV2 miles. The trail commenced on the Vos> seler Shield course, but left it at the top of the hills above Scots College. Keeping to the Seatoun Heights all the way to Point Haswell, the runners then turned south down the hill to Rongotai and home via tho new playing, area at the seafront. Next Saturday's- run will be held -at Eastbourne.
