Mr. and Mrs. Dan Bidtfiford, Ft:atherston, have roturncd home after spending race week in Wellington. Mrs. V. Kemble has taken Mrs. D. W. Duthie's house at Heretaunga. Mrs. Duthie is spending the winter months in Auckland. Miss Elsmie "Ward, Clerinont terrace, left yesterday for a week's holiday in "Wanganui. Miss Isabel Turrell, who was the , guest of Miss Jean, Webster, Hobson street, last :week, returned to Christehurch on Saturday night. Currie,.who stayed at the Boyal .Oak Hotel for race week, returned to Wanganui this morning. Mrs. Barclay Smith, "Wellington, is the guest of Miss Hazel Elmslie, Murray Ansley's Hill, Christchureh. Mr. and Madame Winnie Bireh-John-stone, Taranaki, are staying at the Windsor Hotel. Miss Janet Knight, Daimevirke, who has been the guest of Mrs. W. S.
