The Standard Bank of South Africa i? in a position analogous to that of banks in Australia aud New Zealand in respect to profits. It has just paid a dividend at the rate of 14 per cent, per annum for the year endede 31st March, and a bonus of Is per share. The total for the year is thus 15 per cent, as against 17 pot cent, for the previous year, wheu the bonus was 3s.
