SYDNEY, This Day.
The Empire amateur billiards championship was won by L. Steeples (England), who defeated tho title-holder, Sidney Lee (England), 2000 to 1126. Th« best breaks were:—Steeples, 261, 261, 140, 109; Lee, 140, 133. Steeples played bright, crisp billiards, and was most confident. Lee was a little unlucky an' unable to get going.
