APPEAL TO INDIVIDUAL
THE WORLD PANACEA
(By Telegraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.")
AUCKLAND, This Day
"One factor which will help us more th an any other through the present difficult times is a determination not to sitspend our normal public functions if wo can possibly help it," said the Mayor (Mr. G. W. Hutchison), in opening the Auckland Winter Exhibition. "The circulation of money at present is very desirable even if it leaves little pjrofit in the hands through which it pjisscs. There are hundreds of people iv ho have panaceas for the economic ills from which we aro suffering, but c.ur troubles will bo most quickly reme•clied by each individual who has n. job tto do endeavouring to perform it as «3fflcienly and optimistically as possible. "Instead of expending his mental •energies in endeavouring to save tho •world, the man in a job might profitably •consider whether he can make some personal contribution to the position by employing one extra person in his home i or business for the next few months or ', by buying local manufactures wherever f they are obtainable."
