SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY. ♦■—v The itoras presented by the hostess, Mrs. J. E. Booth, to seafaring guests at the Sailors' Friend Society on Tuesday were thoroughly enjoyed by the crowded audience, which cheered to the echo. The performers were Mesdames J. E. Booth, J. King, W. Terry, B. Fellows, Hisses Olive Greeii, Vera Knthmiller, and Messrs B. Taylor.'A. Bede, J. Smith, J. B. Darbyshire, W. Taylor. Mrs. W. Terry was at the piano. Light refreshments .were served. Mr. J. Moore, missioner, spoke on "Confessions" in relation to temper' auce. Prizes for the competitions came from Mrs. Hayes, and were won by men awaiting ships. ■ The. fortnightly meeting of Loyal Kilbirnie Lodge, No. 8027, M.U.1.0.0.F., was held last week, Bro. J. K. Wellwood, N.G., presiding over a fair attendance. A vote of thanks was carried by acclamation on Bro. Russell's action in presenting the lodge with an "honours board.'"
