FOOTBALL ON SUNDAY
MATCH AT TE KUITI
A PULPIT ATTACK
(By Telegraph.)
(Special to "The Evening Post.")
AUCKLAND, This Day.
A football match played at Te Kuiti on Sunday week between the Te Kuiti and Taumarunui railway staffs formed the subject of strong criticism by the Bey. W. Sussex, at the Te Kuiti Methodist Church on Sunday-evening.
"A very unfortunate feature of the oven£ is that the local brass band should throw iv their lot to improve an occasion so ignoble,'' said Mr. Sussex. '• The desecration of the Lord's Day was open and discreditable to the railway clubs concerned. There could only be one thing more regrettable, and that would be to have it repeated. A repetition of the happening would alienate many; of the new board's supporter,?."
