DAWSON-HAMBOURG.
The music-loving public of. Wellington Will have, the. opportunity of listening to one of the greatest concert attractions ever placed before the public nest Saturday evening in the Town Hall, when Mark Hambourg and. Peter Dawson will commence a series oS concerts in the presence of His Excellency the Governor-General and Lady Bledisloe. Mark Hambourg has had. a long and varied experience, m the musical world.extending over 40 years, since he was launched on an' astonished world as a boy prodigy. Since that historic debut he has managed to figure as soloist in concertos played with every important orchestra in the world. No Australian singer is'known to more of the world's ears than Peter Dawson. As far bark as 1904 it was discovered that he had a voice just right for mechanical reproduction, and since then he has made hundreds of gramophone records, and over eleven million copies of these have-been sold throughout the world. Meanwhile Peter Dawson has been troubadouring all over the world (he reached Covent Garden in 1909), and, though fifteen' years ago there was talk of him retiring, nothing came of it. Peter Dawson never talks about his own compositions, but his own songs are,published under the name J.VP. M'C'all. Mr. Hugo Larsen announces that the Wellington season will be limited to three concerts. Plans are at the Bristol.
