REGENT THEATRE.

Bert Wheeler, and "Kobert Woolsoy are again here to 'delight audiences with their clowning in "Hook, ,Line, and Sinker," at the Regent Theatre.- They- become publicity agents tor an old; out. of the way hotel. They succeed, and soon the hotel Is filled with the elite of society. The 'hotel is owned ■by a girl who has run away from home, and whi , ■ is the principal reason for the two comedians deciding to go into the hotet-business.: Do they know .anytiling about hotels? Why.'there are several hotels-looking for them at the very moment, they protest when asked for their qualifications. Not.only do they fill the hotel with tho "upper ten," hut.two' rival gangs of- crooks as well. The jewels in a much advertised sat'o .formed tho magnet to draw the latter visitors; and matters start to move when both gangs, go after the jewellery on.the.same night.. Wheeler and Woolsey are to bo "put on the spot" by one gang, 'but the pair engagingly decline the honour, and end up by collecting the huge reward for the capture of- both gangs. Fierce fighting between the gangs/in which an arsenal which would do credit to Al Capone is brought -into action, and a ballroom scene, form a splendid background for the .comedian's to pun and fool their way through all sorts of danger, and after It is all over, one member of the team marries the girl and the other her mother, «o'that all ends happily and hilariously. There la an excellent supporting programme.
