SIX LEADING TEAMS SUCCESSFUL
In the series of senior A grade Rugby football championship games, "played on Saturday afternoon, the six leading teams met the second six on the ladder, and in each game the result was in favour of the higherplaced team. It came as a surprise, however, to find Potone, although in the lower six, beaten by Wellington College Old Boys, but on^tho day's play victory went the right way, an effective method of countering tlio fight-back game- being employed by the winners. The University-Wel-lington game at Athletic Park was not of high standard, but it had some fright features. Wellington were hard pressed to win. Hutt had a hard game with Oriental, and Marist had to move briskly to beat Atheltie. Poneke completely outclassed Miramar and ran up a big score, and Eastbourne's position was maintained by : a good win over Berhamporc. In the senior B grade, St. Patrick's College Old Boys improved their Avinning record, and their prospects by defeating Johnsonvillc A surprise in this grade was the defeat of Wellington College Old Boys by Training Collogo. The takings at the games on Saturday are to be devoted'to charity. The day was fine, except for a fairly strong wind.
