During Sunday, however, a depression crossed the Dominion, a slight cyclone developing in the afternoon near Cook Strait. Very squally . conditions ' prevailed .in the night, and much snow has since fallen in the South Island, a number of east coast towns reporting snow at 9 a.m. to-day.
