LOCAL NEWSREELS
Sporting and other events of interest in New Zealand will be the subject of newsreels of which the Fox Film. Corporation in' the future intends to make a feature. With a view to inaugurating the service, Mr. A. A. Gregory, sales manager in Sydney for the corporation, arrived at Wellington by the Makura to-day, accompanied by Mr. E. W. Bierrc, a' New Zealand cameraman. "I am very much of the opinion that the establishment of this venture will be of great benefit to New Zealand," said Mr. Gregory to a "Post" reporter, "for the films will be sent to Australia to be made up and afterwards distributed to all parts of the world." The cameraman would travel throughout New Zealand and it was quite likely that in time lie- would extend his operations to a wider field. Mr. Gregory added that some of the big picture theatres in Australia were doing better business now than twelve months ago, although some of the smaller theatres were feeling the effect of the depresssion a little.
