MIRAMAR CLUB
At Miramar last Saturday afternoon a three section stroke competition was played. In the senior section, A. W. Griffin, had the be»t score, 78, 7—71; in the intermediate, M. L. Stiver, 83, 15—68; in the junior, F. W. Mackay, 87, 17—70. Other scores were: 11.' J. Crombie, 84, 11— 73; V. E. Sutherland. 84, 14—70; H. E. Napier, 87, 16-71; G. W. Waddel, 81, 10— 71; G. S. Rees, SI, 10—71; J. J. Dalgleish, Si, 13—71; A. D. Kerr, 91. 20-71; J. L. 'Dempster, 82, 20—72; C. V. Sutherland, 87, 14—73. A remarkable thing about Griffin's score was that on each of twelve greens he had only one putt, but could not do better than 71 net. Putting produces the cards. Had he taken the average two putts on each green his gross score would have been 90.
