ACTRESS BADLY BURNT
EXPLOSION OF GAS HEATER
NEW YOEK, 12th Juno. A message from Weston, Connecticut, states that Miss Eva Lo Gallienne, founder, director, and leading woman of Now York's famous Civic Repertory Theatre, Josephine Hutchinson, a member of her company, and a maidservant, were burned in the explosion of a gas heater in Miss Lo Gallienne's country home, .when the latter attempted to heat water to give her dog a bath. . Miss Lo Gallieiuio was removed to hospital, where she will remain for a lengthy period. ' It is feared that she will be scarred from tho serious burns on her face, shoulders, arms, chest, and thighs. An actress of international distinction, Miss Eva Le Gallienne was born in London. Site is 32 years of age, and has appeared in London, Paris, and New York. The Civic Repertory Theatre referred to in tho cable messagp was opened in October, ID2C.
