MARRIED WOMEN TEACHERS
(To the Editor.) Sir,—The public would like to know where the Wellington Board of Education stands in relation to the employment of married women, whose husbands are also in employment. Some little time ago, board members were deploring the fact that they had no power to deal with the question. Now that Parliament has given them the power, board members seem to lack courage in tackling the question. Possibly they are waiting to see if:the firm action taken by Auckland and other boards will result in sufficient vacancies for the absorption of Wellington's numerous unemployed teachers? In the meantime the\Training Colleges are busy traming further numbers of young people to join the ranks of the large body of teachers at present awaiting employment.—l aifl, etC"' " "STILL WAITING."
