GENERAL ELECTION
THE OTAKI SEAT
MR. W. H. FIELD FOR REFORM
The names of five prospective candidates in the Beform interests for tha Otaki seat at the coming General Election were submitted to a ballot oa. Saturday afternoon, : and. the sitting member, Mr. W. H. Meld, was selected. The four other candidates were Messrs. E. Windley (Porirua), B. W.; Bothamley (Porirua), J. D:' Avery (Te Horo), and G. Young (Stokes Valley). Tha name of Mr. Dunbar'Sloane (Johnsonville) had been submitted, but he in« timated that he did not intend to go to the ballot, and that he would like to see any support he might have received accorded to Mr..Field.
Mr. Dunbar Sloane, who stood at the last General Election as the Beforal candidate for Wellington: Central, has been approached and asked to contest the seat again at the coming elections in the same interests.; He is considering the request, arid will give his reply; in. a few days.
