SELLING OF WOOL
PROCEDURE, TOO- SPEEDY ? (By Telesraph.) (Special to "The Evening Post.") 1 CHBISTCHURCII, 12th June. "It is suggested that the wool is knocked down before all the bids arc in," explained the secretary ofJ the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association, wKenHhe General Committee had before it the following remit: "That;the selling of woolj'at the fast rate at recent wool sales is detrimental to the interests of the sellers, and consquently a protest should be made to the "Woolbrokers' Association." The remit, which did not find favour with the meeting, will bo considered at the annual conference of %c Royal Agricultural Society. Mr. B. T. M'Millan said that the present way of selling wool was very satisfactory. An endeavour should be made to bring about a reduction in the freight on wool shipped from New Zealand to London. There was every possibility of a reduction being made, in view of the lower prices for tho commodity.
