MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Police and summons cases in the Magistrate's Court yesterday were-dealt with by Mr. E. Page, S.M. One first offending inebriate, who did not appear, was fined 10s, the amount of his bail. ' John Edward Hynes, aged 35, was fined £5, in default twenty-one_ days' imprisonment, on a charge of, resisting Constable Kemp while in the execution of his duty. He was convicted and discharged for drunkenness. On a charge of being an idle and disorderly person in that she associated with reputed thieves, Margaret Martis, aged 38, was sentenced to three months' imprisonment. A further week's remand was granted in the case of Harold Beggs, aged 27, who is charged with obtaining sacks valued at £1 4s 4d by false pretences. Herbert Clifford Love, aged 19, was admitted to probation for a period of two years on a charge of receiving a bicycle valued at £10, knowing it to have been dishonestly obtained.
