TALE FOR SMALL ONES

Once upon a time, there lived a poor little girl whose name was Norma Pago. Norma believed in fairies, and wishes they would make her rich. One day Norma's mother had to go to market, and Norma was left to do the housework. As she was cloing her room, a fairy flew in her window, very angry, because Norma had been saying unkind things about the fairies. The Fairy Queen had sent her messenger to bring Norma to her. When Norma saw the fairy, she said, "O-o-ol What arc you?" "You know very well who I am," cried the fairy. Norma was frightened, and ran out into the garden, but the Queen came riding up and said severely to the fairy: "You should not have spoken so angrily. Now, I'll change you into a purse." So soon Norma and her mother grew rich, for, you see, when the Queen changed the fairy into a purse, she put seven gold pennies into it. BufNorma did not say another unkind word about the fairies again. '' QUEEN OF AUTUMN " (6 ). Brooklyn.
